Children and Family Urban Ministries requires a lot of supplies and other items to fulfill its mission. When we can acquire these things at no cost through donations, more funds are left for other program work.
Items for which there is an urgent immediate need are listed on our frequently-updated listing of special immediate needs. Please check that page often. Following below is a list of commonly-needed items. If you can provide any of these items for us, please call us at (515) 282-3242 or email and we'll work out the details of getting them here. Recreational items such as games, puzzles, coloring books, ping-pong balls and paddles, jump ropes, hula hoops, legos and other building toys, movie videos. Reading resources such as culturally diverse picture and chapter books, including books in Spanish; and subscriptions to children's magazines and publications. Art supplies such as markers, crayons, construction paper, poster board, scissors, glue and glue sticks, craft sticks, modeling clay, beads. Music resources such as tapes and CDs, drums for a percussion group. School supplies are needed throughout the year: notebook paper, folders, pencils, spiral notebooks, trappers, backpacks. Children's winter clothing, such as mittens, hats, coats, and boots, is needed in late fall and winter. Program supplies such as single-use cameras, polaroid film, portable tape players for books-on-tape, AA batteries, boys and girls swim suits and towels. Paper products such as dinner plates, snack plates, bowls, cups, plastic silverware, toilet tissue, facial tissue, and paper towels. Kitchen items such as dish cloths and towels. |
